Kleine opmerking: Ik ben op het moment druk aan het werk aan de nieuwe site. Ik wil de site echter niet helemaal offline halen, dus je kunt alles nog gewoon bekijken. Maar de werkzaamheden kunnen er wel voor zorgen dat sommige pagina's er een beetje raar uitzien. Het zal niet heel lang meer duren.

Multimedia Art Program and Competition Celebrates the Artistry of The Sims and Inspires Students to Compete for $36,000 in Total Prizes
EA Partners With Top Art Schools to Put ''The Sims: in the Hands of Artists''
REDWOOD CITY, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--March 21, 2007--Electronic Arts (NASDAQ:ERTS) announced today that the company is teaming up with three art and design schools, Parsons The New School for Design in New York, Academy of Art University in San Francisco and Otis College of Art and Design in Los Angeles to produce art competitions and exhibitions that will celebrate the art of The Sims. The Sims-inspired artwork provided by the students will include a range of media including: machinima (animated films that use the engine from the video game), paintings, illustrations, sculptural work, fashion designs, cinematography, and interactive displays. The exhibits will be sponsored by Ford Motor Company.
The art on display will be selected from work submitted by students at the three respective schools and juried by representatives from the schools and EA. The Machinima and traditional art will be judged in separate categories with $12,000 of prize money awarded at each school for winning entries.
"The Sims games celebrate creativity--encouraging players to create their own world as they play through the game. We've seen fans make everything from their dream home, to story-driven movies using The Sims as their medium. Putting a creative tool like The Sims in the hands of emerging artists opens up a whole new world of possibilities--we can't wait to see what the students come up with," said Nancy Smith, GM of The Sims Division at Electronic Arts and an avid art collector.
The Sims is one of the world's most popular PC games, selling nearly 85 million games world-wide since it's launch in 2000. It's earned its broad appeal by letting players creatively control the lives of characters in their own virtual world.
"EA has long recognized the artistic talent of the students at Parsons the New School for Design, Academy of Art University and Otis College of Art and Design. This program is the perfect way to celebrate The Sims games across a variety of art forms," said Jack Lew, Global University Relations Manager for Art Talent at EA. "And true to the Sims franchise, 'The Sims: In the Hands of Artists' exhibits will demonstrate self expression and creativity."

De afgelopen maanden voelde ik me erg ziek. Ik ben vaak naar het ziekenhuis geweest en ik voel me nog steeds niet goed. Niet eens een beetje. Maar dat weerhoud me er niet van downloads te maken. En ik kan ook beloven dat jullie de komende maand de ene verandering na de andere zullen zien op Simsnetwerk. Maar ik kan er verder nog niets over zeggen, behalve dat je het beste SNW kunt bezoeken om zelf te zien wat die veranderingen inhouden.
Voor speciale momenten, moet je wel downloads maken. Dus dat heb ik gedaan. Fijne Valentijnsdag aan jullie allemaal toegewenst. Ik hoop dat jullie deze skins leuk vinden. Klik op het plaatje om de downloads te bekijken en te downloaden. Als je me een plezier wilt doen, zeg dan gewoon simpelweg dankjewel als je het leuke downloads vind. Op die manier, weet ik dat de mensen mijn werk waarderen en daar put ik energie uit.

We hadden gelijk; Electronic Arts heeft aan 1UP bevestigd dat EA Japan niet meer bestaat. Het bedrijf wil echter wel duidelijk maken dat ze nog altijd spellen ontwikkelen in Japan, maar dat zal gebeuren in een samenwerkingsverband in het "EA Partners" programma, en daarmee zal de studio in Japan dus niet meer alleen EA games maken.
De officiële verklaring:
"EA is consolidating its development teams in Japan. Game creation in Japan will continue under our EA Partners model, working with external Japanese developers. Japan-based development for the NDS - Theme ParkDS, Sim CityDS, DragonZakuraDS - will continue under EA Partners in collaboration with external developers. Each of these titles remains in our release plans. EA's publishing team in Japan will continue to publish many of our popular franchises in that market."Succes toegewenst aan alle betrokkenen.

Voor iedereen allereerst de beste wensen voor het nieuwe jaar.
Zo aan het begin van het nieuwe jaar kijkt iedereen terug op alles, wat er het jaar daarvoor gebeurd is.
En natuurlijk kijken we naar de toekomst, iedereen is benieuwd wat het nieuwe jaar ons zal brengen.
2006 was een goed jaar voor alle Simsfans. Wie graag bijblijft, heeft zich waarschijnlijk scheel betaalt aan alle uitbreidingen, maar het was het wel waard. In één jaar tijd hebben onze Sims de mogelijkheid gekregen om een eigen zaak te beginnen, het vakantiegevoel tot zich te nemen, of alle luxe in zijn spel te brengen.
Met als klap op de vuurpijl natuurlijk de komst van honden en katten in de Sims 2.
Kortom, voor alle Simsfans een zeer goed jaar.
Het plotselinge uitvallen van Simsnetwerk was een pijnlijke gebeurtenis, maar gelukkig wist SNW_Rosana alles weer op het internet te krijgen. Langzaam maar zeker komen alle onderdelen weer online en wachten we met smart op haar mooie creaties voor onze Sims.
2007 wort natuurlijk het jaar van de seizoenen. Veel Simsfans zitten te wachten op de nieuwste uitbreiding, Seasons of in het Nederlands Seizoenen. EA houdt ons in hun greep, we hopen op een goede uitbreiding waarin de Sims ineens te maken krijgen met de grillen van lente, zomer, herfst of winter.
Wat 2007 ons verder zal brengen, we tasten nog in het duister.

Het is alweer vijf jaar geleden dat The Sims Zone UK is opgericht. Ze vieren het vandaag met allerlei speciaals. Koop, bak of pak een taart, zet er wat kaarsjes op, steek ze aan, blaas ze uit, en vier de verjaardag mee! Veel plezier op The Sims Zone!
