Happy

Everything That's Wrong With This Episode is Right On The Money!

The Fourth Annual What's Wrong With This Episode? April Fool's Contest for THE DREW CAREY SHOW

Episode Airs Wednesday, March 28 at 9:00-9:30pm (PT/ET) on ABC March 14, 2001-Burbank, CA-After broadcasting live to all three time zones, putting Drew in a coma and giving viewers the opportunity to name Mimi's baby, fans of "The Drew Carey Show" are wondering, what's next? In what has become a tireless fete to push the envelope and get the audience directly involved with the show, producers have once again teamed with Dr Pepper to offer big bucks for the fourth annual, "What's Wrong With This Episode?" April Fool's promotion. Contest participants will watch, write down and submit their list of the many things that go wrong with the March 28 episode (via online to ABC.com- www.abc.com/primetime/drewcarey/drew_home.html or write in--c/o Drew Carey PO Box 94971 Cleveland, OH 44101). Some things may be obvious, others more obscure, for the die hard fans of "The Drew Carey Show."

In the last three years, the April Fool's promotion "drew" more than 350,000 entries with 400 runners-up winning "Drew Carey Show" merchandise and one Grand Prize provided by Dr Pepper where the Grand Prize Winner received $200,000, a trip for two to Los Angeles and a bowling date with Drew Carey himself. This year, Dr Pepper is also providing the Grand Prize, which is the same great package but the contest will be far more challenging. Producers are once again keeping mum about the number of things to go wrong in this year's contest.

"It's become a family event where everyone can sit down and play What's Wrong With This Episode, says Bruce Helford, co-creator and executive producer of 'The Drew Carey Show.' Helford continues, "This year, the things that are wrong with the episode are even more bizarre."

Most details are being kept quiet but two hints about the March 28 episode, which focuses on Drew's efforts to save Lewis from going to hell, has "The Drew Carey Show" partnering with Electronic Arts to bring the unique brand of humor in the popular computer game The Sims™ to the "What's Wrong With This Episode?" episode.

The Sims is a PC game that allows players to create a neighborhood of simulated people (known as Sims) and control their lives. The March 28 episode will also feature special guest stars from past hit comedy series, including Gary Coleman ("Different Strokes"), Kim Fields ("Facts Of Life"), Meshach Taylor ("Designing Women") and Jimmy JJ Walker ("Good Times") among others.

Produced by Mohawk Productions in association with Warner Bros. Television, "The Drew Carey Show" airs Wednesdays 9:00-9:30pm (ET/PT) on the ABC Television Network. Bruce Helford, Drew Carey, Robert Borden (episodes 1-13), Holly Hester (episodes 14-26) and Deborah Oppenheimer are executive producers. The series was created by Bruce Helford and Drew Carey.
